This Hamilton Island Photo Book was created over a 5-day trip in July 2017. I explored the island on foot and by air, capturing the island before me. From an environment so defined by its beautiful, tropical colours, this photo book removes the element of colour to look further into the surreal landscape with a focus on shape and texture.
Focusing on small moments and hidden treasures, this series shows the island decontextualized. The created anonymous tropical scene aims to be free of reputation and expectation. This series highlights beauty of the island that comes equally from the textures and tones found in abstract moments.
